TOM AMOR: Bergman will stand strong for us in Washington
TO THE EDITOR:
This is certainly a big year in Michigan politics, and once again the voters of northern Michigan have a clear choice to make when it comes to our representative in Washington D.C.
Jack Bergman’s grandparents immigrated to the UP to work in the mines and now, 100 years later he is the representative for this area we all call home. He has lived a life of real integrity and true courage and has proudly represented us in Congress for the past four years. As a lieutenant general in the Marine Corps, a father, a small business owner and a proud family man — Jack is the epitome of the leadership we need in Washington.
He is fighting for veterans’ rights and assistance in Washington and even in a divided Congress worked across the aisle to get veteran suicide prevention on the president’s desk. He is working to secure extended broadband access across the district, and Jack is the only candidate in this race who stands with our law enforcement.
The choice has truly never been clearer — we must re-elect Jack Bergman to have someone who will stand strong for us in Washington to protect our way of life.
