Aug 08, 2018

MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WLUC)-  Michigan politicians visited the moving wall Vietnam memorial in Manistique Saturday. The representatives came to speak about the walls significance.

Congressman Jack Bergman, senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow, state senator Tom Casperson, and representatives Sara Cambensy and Beau LaFave were all in attendance. Each took turns giving speeches on what the wall means to them.

“As a Vietnam veteran, it’s very personal to me because I have friends that I grew up with on this wall,” said U.S. Congressman Jack Bergman. “This is an opportunity, thanks to all the people in Manistique that made this possible, so that we, as a country and as individuals, can understand the service and sacrifice that people made to defend our country, outside our shores.”

The wall is free and open to the public until 1 pm Monday, August 6th at the Manistique Marina.
